It’s one of the highest trending articles on crypto-platforms right now; a Reddit user named Cryptogreetings has placed a puzzle on the Reddit platform, and is offering 1 Bitcoin to anyone who can crack said puzzle. Obviously, the longer it’s online and the more who see it, the sooner it will be solved, so be quick, have a go – you could win yourself a Bitcoin!
What’s Going On?
Someone calling themselves Cryptogreetings has placed a puzzle on Reddit earlier today (May 21) and is offering one BTC (Bitcoin) to the first person to solve their puzzle. Now, this could just be:
- A) A Practical Joke: and the lucky person who cracks the puzzle then follows the instructions to find they have won a big cardboard cutout Bitcoin, for example.
- B) A Hoax: as in, there is no solution to the puzzle. People will rack their brains for days, weeks, months, before the penny finally drops and they realize they’ve been had.
- C) A Scam: There are any amounts of agreements you have to sign before you get close to your Bitcoin, it’s not worth having it.
Or, it might be real. The puzzle certainly seems complex enough, so whoever is behind it could be eccentric and honorable enough to come through with the goods and award the first person to solve the puzzle a Bitcoin.
What Are The Details Of The Puzzle?
The puzzle is a semi-kaleidoscopic image in bronze, black and white, which features a vast array of words, several numbers, the Bitcoin logo itself, plus a variety of other signs and symbols. Held within the image are the clues to solving the puzzle.
Reddit users have ventured that the clues will reveal the code numbers, letters, words and symbols featured on a private key for a Bitcoin wallet containing the 1 BTC prize. Some think the color combination has some significance. Others think the puzzle needs to be turned upside down or on its side to reveal all.
Cryptogreetings also included this short message with the puzzle:
“This work is comprised of Satoshi Nakamoto’s famous whitepaper words, scaled by Log N. Disparate ideas inspired Satoshi to create a solution to revolutionize modern socio-economics and industry. The work reflects on the elements that brought this technology to life and challenges the underlying security model. Hidden in plain sight lies something more: a treasure hunt. 1 BTC is concealed within the work.”

“Simpler To Sell A Kidney!”
This puzzle – if 100% genuine – is so impressive it could have been constructed Satoshi Nakamoto himself.
